WHAT IS IT?
Urtica dioica, commonly known as stinging nettle, is a perennial herbaceous plant. Easily recognizable by its green, toothed leaves covered in stinging hairs, it is often overlooked despite its numerous benefits.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
• Nutrient-Rich: Contains essential vitamins (B, C, E, provitamin A), minerals, trace elements, and essential amino acids.
• High Protein Content: One of the richest plant sources of complete proteins, with up to 40% protein in its dry weight.
• Antioxidants: Helps boost immune defenses and its high iron content combats fatigue.
• Detoxifying Properties: A natural diuretic, it supports liver and systemic detoxification.
Caution: Stinging nettle is known for its abortive properties and can affect the menstrual cycle. Avoid administering to pregnant or lactating mares. Consult your veterinarian for advice.
Stinging Nettle Powder (Urtica dioica).
• Ponies: 20 g/day
• Horses: 40 g/day
Administer over 30 days, ideally in two doses per day.
Repeat several times per year as needed.
Not recommended for pregnant mares.
